Delaware Avenue Separated Bikeway to open this week!
Location: South Main Street to Library Avenue, Newark
Dates and Times: 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Exciting news! The separated bikeway will be open for bike traffic this Thursday – a two-way bike lane that physically separates bicyclists from sidewalk and traffic using curbing and striping from Orchard Road to Pomeroy Trail Crossing. One-way bikeways are located on each side of Delaware Avenue from Pomeroy Trail to Library Avenue.
Signalized intersections now include separate bike signals and green colored pavement is used at conflict points between bikes and vehicles at driveways and intersections.
Overall project construction is almost complete with a few activities to be finalized within next few weeks.
Saddle your bike, dust off your helmet, and start using the new bike facility!
